Double Entries in iCal - think I'm doing iCloud wrong

iCal on my iMac has begun registering double entries on everything since my wife and I began using separate Apple IDs after sharing one (don't worry, this is not a precursor to a break-up story!). We are connected by Family sharing (see, all is peaceful at home!).

It's a small but annoying issue which I suspect has had hitherto undetected and possibly more serious knock-on effects in other apps.

Does anyone have any idea what I may be doing wrong?

iMac, iOS 9.1

Glad everything's great on the home front. Sounds like you don't need double entries on your calendar anymore (one for you and one for her).

Note you will want to see if you see the duplicates on iCloud.com first and if not then check out the local situation.

Thanks Nubz. I went through the process but don't appear to have an 'on my Mac' section under calendars on Calendar (sorry, I realise now it's no longer iCal!). I have separate sections for my Apple ID and my wife's ID.

Hi TopGinge67,

It sounds like if you did have local (Mac) calendars they may have been merged with iCloud as mentioned in this article.

iCloud: Using iCloud Calendars with Calendar and iCal - Apple Support

If you have local calendars, they are merged with iCloud when you set up iCloud Calendar. If you have calendars in a section labeled On My Mac and you're unable to merge those local calendars with iCloud, contact iCloud Support for help.

If your duplicates are from different calendars you can enable or disable them as needed. If they are in the same calendar you may want to contact iCloud Support as mentioned.
